Brett

How can I get Brett’s autograph?
Your best chance of getting an autograph in the mail is by sending a request to one of the (snail mail) contact addresses on the Write to Brett page. You can also contact Cricket Australia and select “Message or question for a player“.

How can I write to Brett?
You can email Brett by clicking here or via Cricket Australia here and then selecting “Message or question for a player“. I have also set up a Ways to Contact Brett page with several (snail mail) contact addresses. I cannot guarantee a response. Good luck!

Does he write back? I’ve written him fifty letters already!
Brett has been known to reply to fan mail, but keep in mind that he is a sports star and celebrity, and has a horribly busy schedule. Rest assured that he does in fact read his fan mail!

When I write to him, what should I say?
Write what you want – it’s your letter!

Can you give me his email address/home address/phone number?
No. That’s private information. We respect Brett’s right to privacy.

Is Brett married?
No. He was previously married to Liz Kemp and they have a son, Preston Charles, who was born on November 16, 2006.

Does he have siblings? When is his birthday…
You can find this info on other parts of the site, but in the interest of saving time – yes he does (big bro, Shane; and lil bro, Grant), and 8th November 1976.

Site FAQs

Does Brett know about this website? Does he ever visit?
Yes, he knows about the website and he visits occasionally. In fact, he mentioned in a newspaper interview that this is his favourite website!

Where do you get all your information? Do you know him?!
I wouldn’t say I know Brett Lee. I compile all the information found on this website from newspaper/magazine articles and news websites on the Internet. Information also comes in from Brett’s fantastic management team at Insite Organisation.

Can I use your pictures on my own website?
Sure, I have no ownership of the images in the gallery. All pictures remain copyright its respected owner. If there is a “brett-lee.net” tag on an image (meaning it was scanned or screen captured personally by me), please give credit. Also, download the pics and then upload them to your own server. Do not direct link! Steal my bandwidth and I can guarantee that the result will not be pretty! (You + Me = Issues)

Can I use the information on this site on my own website?
If the information is of public domain (ie. newspaper articles) – by all means, go ahead. However copying and pasting entire contents of sections of this site is prohibited and in breach of copyright which is illegal. There are several Brett fan sites out there who have plagiarised some of the contents of this site without so much as asking, and while we do not intend to take any action at this stage (we may do in future); Brett, his management and myself are not impressed, and we know who you are.
I spend a lot of time working on this site and seeing my own words on other people’s sites is extremely upsetting to me. Needless to say, I am constantly on the lookout for people who have infringed upon my copyright. I do check my website statistics frequently, and am able to see addresses that have been visiting, and when people have right-clicked on my site. Most importantly, I count on my visitors to let me know. If you happen to see another website that looks as if they could possibly have copied from this site, please email me with the address, so I can investigate and take action, if necessary.

Will you send me pictures of Brett?
No. Every single picture that I have of Brett is posted on the site. I don’t hide pictures :) Besides, if I were to send pictures to every person who asks, I would be sending pictures out the entire day, to all 3987723497342 people who request them.

Can you put music by Brett’s band, “Six and Out” on this site for download?
I’m sorry, I can’t. It would be illegal to do so as I don’t own the copyrights to his music.

How many years have you been working on this site?

This site first opened in April 2003.

What program do you use to build your site?

I use Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 for the creation and maintenance of most of the site, and PaintShop Pro and PhotoShop for the graphics, and WordPress for the site’s content management.

How many hours do you spend working on the site?

When I first started building this site, I was obsessed with it! I worked on it several hours every day. Now, nine years later (thanks to getting a life), I have it down to only a few hours every week. I usually update the news archives and photo galleries.

How many pages is your site?

The site has about 2000 pages of news and information. There are about 1000 photos in the gallery and loads more graphics all over the site.

How many visitors do you get?
It varies depending on what’s going on with Brett and whether or not it’s the cricket season. During the winter, we average about 200 hits per day, but that spikes up to several thousand per day during the summer when the cricket is on… or if Brett does something newsworthy :)

Miscellaneous FAQs

How do you pronounce your name, Caite?
It’s pronounced as “Kate”.

Do you have fansites about other cricketers? Or are you planning on making more sites for other cricketers?
Yes, and no. I currently have sites for Aussie cricketers: Michael Clarke, Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist. I also have a site for South African cricketer, AB de Villiers.

Will you be my penpal/friend?
Numerous people have asked me this, but I don’t have time to spare. It wouldn’t be fair if I accepted, and didn’t hold up my end of the deal. Rest assured, I do read ALL emails that are sent my way and I appreciate your feedback and comments.

Why didn’t you respond to my email?
Rest assured, that I DO READ EVERY email sent to me. There are several reasons why I don’t respond to email messages. Firstly, I receive A LOT of emails from fans and if an email does not require a response, chances are I won’t respond. Also, if questions asked in emails are ones that have already been dealt with on this page, I will not respond. And the other reason why I won’t respond to email messages: the emails were addressed to Brett. I AM NOT BRETT LEE – I just run this website!

Can you help me make my website?
I would love to, but I don’t have time. I barely have enough time to keep this baby updated :-D When I am not doing web design, I am a full-time primary school teacher!
