Brett Lee could not bring himself to bounce one in short to South Sydney’s English recruit Sam Burgess yesterday.
While Burgess and his new Bunnies teammate Matt King (pictured) failed to get bat on ball they were spared the prospect of seeing Lee in full flight.
“I’m not sure if I’m getting old and soft, and even though Sam had an English jersey on, I couldn’t bowl him the ‘sniff’,” Lee said.
Burgess said Lee was “fast and intimidating” and his brother Luke would have fared better with the bat.
