Brett Lee has a long association with India, and it's not just about cricket. He's shot a music video with legendary singer Asha Bhonsle, has expressed admiration for Preity Zinta and now the blond smasher from Down Under is ready to script a Bollywood chapter with his upcoming film Victory, co-starring Harman Baweja. "A few years ago, choosing the right film would not have been easy as the atmosphere wasn't conducive. Now, times have changed," says Lee, looking dapper in a chic white T-shirt and a black leather jacket.
In Delhi for the launch of Timex Conversation Starter, Lee, not exactly in the pink of health, fielded the usual questions about the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan. "The decision whether Australia would be playing or not will be decided by the Australian cricket board and the security agencies," he says.
In Victory, he plays the role of a professional cricketer along with Aussie teammates Brad Hogg, Stuart Clarke and Mike Hussey. A handful of other cricketers like Yusuf Pathan, RP Singh and Pravin Kumar have cameos in the film.
On working with newcomer Harman Baweja, Lee says it was a whole new experience. "It was a lot of fun. We helped each other out throughout the movie. I taught him a few shots while he gave him me acting tips," he recalls.
Next on the anvil, Lee is adding finishing touches to a music video. "There are six to seven songs in Hindi and in English in the album. I had been working on it with friends for the last six months," he smiles.
Looks like this cricketer has a long innings ahead, at least in Bollywood.
