After an arduous training session where he put down three catches, and in between hurrying pressmen with a drawled "jaldi, jaldi," Brett Lee made it clear that Sachin Tendulkar was God, Glenn McGrath exciting to have back, and Brian Lara up there with them.
"Look, as far as I'm concerned Tendulkar is God, and if you want to become a better player you've got to compete with the best," said Lee, before appending Lara and his skipper, Ricky Ponting, to the list of greats.
In McGrath's absence, Lee has become the leader of the attack.
"Glenn has been sorely missed, and that's not a reflection of how the other guys have bowled. It's just that with Glenn, and the way he bowls, and his sheer presence, it makes a big difference. It's going to be exciting running in with him again. I'm sure he'll be back to his usual," he added.
