Australian paceman Brett Lee has given his dues to Bangladesh, after the cricket minnows continued its fairytale first Test against the best team in the world.
At stumps on the third day, the hosts hold a 282-run lead with five wickets left in hand, and with each run they hit on the fourth morning, the likeliness of a stunning victory will increase.
Lee, who claimed the first breakthrough of the Bangladesh second innings when he bowled Shahriar Nafees, said that credit had to be given for the way Bangladesh played.
"The way they played was pretty outstanding, you have got to give credit to the Bangladeshis, they had nothing to lose coming into this match," Lee told AAP.
"We knew they were going to be tough.
"I think it took us a while to get our engines going but today the way Gilly batted got us back into the game.
"We now have our tails up and want to finish them pretty quickly."
Lee had to leave the field towards the end of the third day, but was adamant that it was nothing more than a running repair for a minor hindrance - blisters.
"It is blisters, a typical fast bowler's problem ... I had them fixed up and came back no problem there, I am 100 per cent."
