Brett Lee told to bowl even faster

SLOW coach Darren Lehmann has called on tearaway Brett Lee to speed up – his over rate that is.

The left-hander said Lee's lengthy run-up had forced captain Ricky Ponting to resort to spinners Andrew Symonds and Lehmann this season so Australia could bowl its allotted 50 overs in time.

There are a range of penalties in place for teams not bowling out their overs quickly enough including fines.

Lehmann said the team was working on the problem before Wednesday's tri-series match against the West Indies in Adelaide.

"We are not getting through our overs quickly enough," Lehmann said today.

"Brett Lee has got a long run up and he knows that and he has to be quicker through his overs.

"He knows that, we have made him quite aware of that and it costs us money every time we are late, it is something we are aware of, and we are trying to work through it."
