Brett Lee, Australia's quickest bowler, was cleared of a significant shoulder injury that may have stopped him playing in a one-day cricket tournament against England and Bangladesh.

Lee complained of shooting pain in his right shoulder two days ago when playing for Australia against English county team Somerset, who defeated the world champions.

Scans in London yesterday revealed Lee suffered bruising to the front of the shoulder when he was struck by a ball while batting against England in a Twenty20 game on June 13, which may have subsequently restricted his bowling action, Cricket Australia said in a statement today.

"This change of action has exacerbated a previous minor, shoulder injury Lee sustained four years ago," the governing body said in the statement. "The condition is expected to settle down quickly."

Prior to the scan, Australia coach John Buchanan said a decision on Lee's availability for games against Bangladesh tomorrow and England on Sunday wouldn't be made until the extent of the injury was known. He'll be monitored and reviewed today before Australia picks its team, Cricket Australia said.

"I am relieved there is no major damage," said Lee.
