English county side Surrey has declared its desire to add Australian fast bowler Brett Lee to its list to replace Zaheer Khan.
Khan replaced had the injured Saqlain Mushtaq at Surrey, but has had to join India's Asia Cup squad.
A Surrey spokesman told BBC Sport the club wanted to replace Khan as soon as possible.
"Brett Lee is one of two players we are considering. If we can get Lee he will be a useful addition to our bowling attack," he said.
Lee, who wants to return to the Australian side for the tour to India in October, has expressed a desire to spend some time in English county cricket in an attempt to prove his fitness.
He was sidelined for three months when he injured his ankle during a tour to Sri Lanka.
But he has recently returned to the nets and is due to return to the sub-continent to work with Test legend Dennis Lillee.
