Speedster Brett Lee will look to a stint in English County cricket in an attempt to regain his place in Australia's squad for the Champions Trophy to be held in England during September.
Lee, who bowled for just the second time since undergoing ankle surgery at the end of March, said he had two options for valuable match practice.
But with the squad for the tournament set to be announced early next month, Lee believed playing County cricket would greatly improve his chances of selection.
"Obviously (the selectors) want to see some match fitness first," Lee said after a workout at Allan Border Field in Brisbane.
"I mean it's great to bowl in the nets and fine to bowl when you're leading into a preseason, but you still need that match-type situation.
"So there's two options to maybe go over and play some county cricket but also with the Centre of Excellence here who are playing a couple of one-dayers in India."
Australian selectors Trevor Hohns and Allan Border were on hand to watch Lee being put through his paces by fast bowling greats Dennis Lillee and Merv Hughes during the 90-minute session.
