Preity outpaces Brett Lee

Aussie speedster Brett Lee’s image has been given quite a work-over by his agents in India and he has emerged as one of international cricket’s most well-known faces on the sub-continent. But, do you know his Preity Zinta connection, or what he likes, whom he adores?

Zinta effect: “I quite like Preity Zinta," said Lee. "She’s a lovely girl," he said flashing his 10,000,000 watt smile. And yes, he even likes Amitabh Bachchan. Know what? He calls him Big B and the Sean Connery of Bollywood.

What attracts him: A great smile, a good personality and humour. I'm a sucker for dimples. That sure is Zinta, Howzzat!

Bingo! Lee: Lee couldn't have had a more appropriate nickname. Brett is called 'Bing', 'Binga' at home, and every time he takes a wicket, the world goes Bingo! He relishes his mum's lasagne and butter chicken, and drives a Commodore. We all know Brett Lee's fascination for new things. But, terrorising batsmen is not the only thing on the blond bomber's agenda.

Strumming, not stumping: Brett is part of a band "Six and Out" comprised of fellow NSW cricketers: Richard Chee Quee, Brad McNamara, Gavin Robertson and his brother, Shane. They have released a CD Six & Out and a stand alone EP Bring It On. Brett plays bass and provides vocals.

On Team India: With Tendulkar in the team, India has the potential to beat any team anywhere at any time. Add the fact that the likes of Dravid and Ganguly are there to lend support, the Indians become a truly formidable team. It has talent, aggression, style and experience. Lee’s favourite cricketers also include Bhajji and Zaheer.

Namaste! Lee also is keen to learn new languages. His proficiency in Hindi was evident when he greeted the media with a warm namaste on Sunday and a shabash! for asking him interesting questions.
