New Delhi: Tearaway Australian fast bowler Brett Lee, today said V V S Laxman stood as the biggest hurdle before his team's ambition to conquer the "final frontier" -- winning a Test series against India after a gap of 37 years.
"I think, Laxman is the best Indian batsman after Sachin Tendulkar but his is the most prized wicket for me and probably every Australian bowler," Brett Lee told UNI on the sidelines of a ceremony here to announce his association with the sports brand "New Balance."
Lee said he had specific plans for Laxman and getting him and Tendulkar out cheaply would be half the job done to achieve the elusive series victory in India.
The express bowler said conquering the "final frontier" was the ultimate aim and dream of his life and promised to play a crucial role in winning the Test series against India in October-November.
"We have won everything except a series against India (for decades). It means so much to me and everyone in the Australian team. It's the biggest challenge for us and I am most eagerly awaiting the opportunity," Lee observed.
When asked whether he doubted his place in the team, Lee said there was a healthy competition between leading fast bowlers of the most fearsome bowling attack.
"This keeps me always on my toes. Michael Kasprowicz and Brad Williams are bowling superbly and Glenn Mcgrath and Jason Gillespie are all-season bowlers," he noted.
The charismatic bowler, however, has no doubt about his place in the team. "I have missed out a lot of cricket in the recent past and now feeling 100 per cent fit. I will definitely give my best shot at the upcoming series."
The pace bowler expressed the hope that the present Australian team under the captainship of Ricky Ponting, would even go past the team under Steve Waugh -- the most successful skipper of all time.
"The Australian team has been among the best in the 10-15 years and undoubtedly the top side in the past 5-6 years," he added.
