I`ll be bowling even faster: Brett Lee

Sydney, Australia: Quite aware of the Indian batsmen's dislike for pacy stuff, Australian speedster Brett Lee warned that he would bowl even faster when the teams meet in their crucial Test here on Friday.

Observing that the Melbourne Test did not see him at his best, the Australian pacer said, ''That's not the fastest that I can bowl. I was playing after an injury in Melbourne, and I touched the 150-mark on quite a few occasions. So I think I can definitely bowl them fast. I was going around 135 in the second innings so as to go with the team-plan of making the batsmen play more line and length deliveries."

Meanwhile, the pacer admitted that he did not expect such a defiant show from the Indians. ''I never imagined that the series would go all the way to the last Test to decide the winner. But certainly for the spectators, lovers of game, and sponsors, this has been good reward. All of them would like it, " he said.

Lee is, however, under pressure because of his modest performance at Melbourne where his fellow pacers outshone him. Australian skipper Steve Waugh said he was satisfied with Nathan Bracken who ''bowled the best'' in the previous Test. Brad Williams, another competitor, for his part, had a four-wicket haul, inclusive of Sachin Tendulkar's wicket, in the second innings at Melbourne, and with Jason Gillespie back in contention, Lee is already feeling the heat.

Though it would be a tough decision for Waugh to finalise the bowling attack, Lee would probably make it as that would add to the aggression and fire power which Australia were lacking in the first two Tests against their Indian visitors.

"If you look at the bowlers India would like to avoid, then Lee and Gillespie certainly top the chart," Waugh said in an indication that both the bowlers could take the field come Friday.
