Chennai, Aug. 10 (PTI): With the Australian tour to India commencing in October, speedster Brett Lee, is here to get first hand knowledge on bowling in Indian conditions from former international Javgal Srinath.

Lee, who arrived here last night, spent time today "learning the tricks on slow bouncy Indian wickets from Srinath", T A Sekhar, Chief Coach of the MRF Pace Academy, said.

Lee would practice bowling on the wickets here for four more days with Srinath, a consultant coach of the MRF, and Sekhar, and also use the facilities at the Academy.

Australia will play four Test matches during their tour of India starting September 30.

Lee, who had earlier trained at the Academy under pace legend Dennis Lillee, in 1996 and 1998, was keen to train here at least a month before the Aussies' tour began, so that he would be able to extract the maximum from the Indian pitches during the matches.

"Perhaps, Lee would have seen the performance of the Indian bowlers after they were trained by Bruce Reid during their tour to Australia and approached MRF for a similar training in Chennai," Sekhar said.
