MOST MEMORABLE MATCH My Test debut, in the Boxing Day Test against India at Melbourne in 1999. I took 5 for 47 and the whole five days were a complete dream for me.
WORST MATCH A first-grade match, at Pratten Park, in 1998. I ‘broke’ my back diving for a ball at fine leg and the resultant stress-fractures kept me out for several months.
CRICKETING HEROES Dennis Lillee and Allan Donald.
GREATEST INFLUENCES My family. They have stuck by me and been honest at all times.
MOST FEARED OPPONENT My brother Shane in the nets – he always hits me!
CURRENT PLAYERS ADMIRED Courtney Walsh. He is a great bowler and consistently so on all pitches.
YOUNG CRICKETERS FOR THE FUTURE Brad Haddin – an amazing talent and a natural striker of the ball.
MAIN COMPLAINT ABOUT CRICKET I hate it when it rains, especially when play is lost.
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN RAIN STOPS PLAY? Generally eat.
CHANGES TO IMPROVE THE GAME AND ITS APPEAL Add a fourth stump!
FAVOURITE GROUNDS The SCG – batsmen do not like batting there and I am inspired by the history and tradition.
LEAST FAVOURITE GROUNDS Dunedin, New Zealand for the unpleasant crowd behaviour.
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS Music and fishing. My brother and I are in a band called Six & Out. We met four or five times a week when we were producing our CD, but Shane and I have made it quite clear to the rest of the boys that the band comes second to our cricket, so we get together about once a fortnight at the moment. We play mostly covers, although we have written six or seven songs ourselves for the CD, which is being launched in October.
MOST PRIZED POSSESSIONS My Baggy Green, of course.
MOST EMBARRASING MOMENT IN LIFE Walking out to bat with two left-handed batting gloves on.
WHO ARE YOUR CLOSEST FRIENDS WITHIN THE GAME My team mate, Corey Richards, and brothers Shane and Grant.
OTHER SPORTS OR SPORTSPEOPLE FOLLOWED The Wallabies – they have great fight.
WHAT DO YOU LISTEN TO IN THE CAR? Anything that I can sing to!
FAVOURITE TELEVISION PROGRAMMES Australia’s Funniest Home Videos.
FAVOURITE FOOD Weet-bix.

FAVOURITE MUSIC Human Nature, Elvis Presley, Crowded House.

FAVOURITE COMEDIANS Eddie and Adam Sandler.
FAVOURITE FICTIONAL CHARACTER Austin Powers, ‘yeh-yeh’!
PET HATES Being stressed.
TWO PEOPLE YOU WOULD MOST LIKE TO MEET Sir Donald Bradman and Sandra Bullock, in no particular order.
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WOULD BE DOING NOW IF YOU WERE NOT PLAYING CRICKET? Playing music and selling suits! I work for Barclay’s Menswear in Sydney and go there on any day off I can, as I quite enjoy the interaction with customers and the ability to make sales. My profile seems to have assisted Barclay’s in attracting customers and it makes me feel as if I am giving something back to the people who supported me before I made good, so to speak.
WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO HAVE BEEN IN A PREVIOUS LIFE? Elvis Presley.
IN WHAT SITUATION WOULD YOU HAVE LOVED TO BE A FLY ON THE WALL? I would like to have listened in on the hook-up regarding the ICC panel interview over my bowling action.
IF YOU WERE GIVEN £1,000, WHAT WOULD YOU SPEND IT ON? Clothes.
MAGAZINES READ Inside Edge.
WHAT DO YOU NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT? My Amex.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST AFRAID OF? ‘Closter’ – my brother when he is claustrophobic.

MOTTO IN LIFE Be happy and enjoy yourself.
