Nov 10, 2009 McGRATH - BRING BACK BRETT
Glenn McGrath says Brett Lee is still the man to lead Australia's bowling attack in Test match cricket for the next few years.

Lee missed out on the Ashes in England through injury and watched on as Ben Hilfenhaus, Peter Siddle and Mitchell Johnson all surged ahead of him in the pecking order.

However, Lee came back with a bang in the following one-dayers and then the Champions Trophy - nudging the speed guns to around the 150km/h mark to put himself right back in contention.

Nov 10, 2009 GREAT LEE
On Friday, 23rd of October, the stage was set for the final of the Airtel Champions League T20 tournament. Trinidad & Tobago (T&T) captain, Darren Ganga, won the toss and decided to field first. The New South Wales (NSW) openers, David Warner and Phil Hughes, tried to aggressively go after the T&T bowlers just like they had in the semi-finals, but without too much success. Simon Katich hit a couple of sixes off Dwayne Bravo but got out trying to hit a third one, to be quickly followed by Henriques who didn’t contribute much with the bat. Rohrer fell after a quick-fire 16, and was followed by DLR Smith 7 balls later.

Nov 08, 2009 LEE IS HAPPY TO LET HIS RECORD DO THE TALKING
When Brett Lee leads the NSW pace attack in next week's Shield match against Tasmania, he'll be auditioning for a role in Australia's first Test against the West Indies. Yet he's adamant he has nothing to prove.

Lee maintains he's not anxious about his selection for the Test series, which starts at the Gabba on November 26. After taking more than 600 wickets for Australia - 310 of them coming in 76 Tests - he doesn't feel it necessary to plead his case.

Next month will mark 10 years since Lee's debut for Australia when, aged 23, he took 5-47 and 2-31 in the Boxing Day Test against India.

Nov 06, 2009 CLARKE AND LEE EDGE CLOSER TO PLAYING COMEBACKS
Michael Clarke is expected to make a return to the NSW side for the next Sheffield Shield match while Brett Lee could be up and bowling again as early as next week.

Lee, who returned home with an elbow injury, is expected to be playing again soon.

"Brett has seen a specialist and CA medical staff in Melbourne," Kountouris said.

"He had a scan that confirmed the cause of the pain as being a long-standing bone spur near the elbow joint.

"It is felt there is no major problem with the joint and we are optimistic that he may be able to resume bowling fairly soon, possibly some time next week.

Nov 04, 2009 LEE'S INJURY STILL A MYSTERY
Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has denied he was injury-prone, but mystery still surrounds the severity of a painful elbow strain which forced his early return from the one-day tour of India.

Lee arrived in Sydney after scans revealed he had aggravated his right elbow and was unable to bowl with the niggling pain after game one of the seven-match series. He will travel to Melbourne this week for consultation with the same doctor who performed his elbow surgery in 2001.

"I can throw 100 per cent but it hurts to bowl, which is why I'm back here,'' said Lee, who turns 33 next Sunday. "The thing with this injury is that nobody knows what it is. It's some swelling on the outside of the elbow. It's only a niggle. It doesn't feel like a long-term thing. I think it will only be a couple of weeks or a month at worst.''

Nov 04, 2009 I'M NOT FINISHED WITH TESTS: LEE
Australian fast bowler Brett Lee said Sunday he was far from finished as a Test cricketer following his latest injury setback.

Lee, 32, returned home on Sunday with an elbow injury which forced him out of Australia's seven-match one-day series in India.

The one-time pace spearhead is bidding to recover in time for the opening Test against the West Indies, starting in Brisbane on November 26.

"I certainly have not ruled out playing Test match cricket and that is definitely the most important thing that I want to achieve -- to get back in and play Test match cricket," Lee told reporters.
