| Aug 11, 2010 | BRETT LEE TO JOIN CHANNEL NINE'S XI |
| Retired Aussie Test cricketer Brett Lee is on the brink of signing a deal with Channel 9 ahead of the Ashes series - and could branch out into lifestyle shows. The deal, which follows a two-year stint at Channel 7, is unlikely to give the fast bowler a seat in the commentary box. But a Nine spokeswoman told Confidential: "He has a great media profile. It's possible [Lee] will do various things and obviously being a retired cricketer it's likely he will be involved in the cricket coverage, but not necessarily in the commentary box." Once the deal is done Lee will join Nine's formidable cricket coverage team of Richie Benaud, Michael Slater, Ian Chappell, Tony Greig, Shane Warne, Bill Lawry, Ian Healy and Mark Taylor. | Aug 08, 2010 | BINGA WANTS TO BE "TOMMY" LEE |
| Cricketer Brett Lee is heading to India in coming weeks - not to play cricket but as a potential rock star. And if things go well, that is what he wants to do with his future. Lee has formed a band called White Shoe Theory with his mate Mick Vawdon. They have been booked for eight shows in India so far, with more to come. ''Our musical influence would be Crowded House and bands similar to that,'' explained Lee, who already has Bollywood experience. ''Mick is the lead singer and he has a great voice. We've known each other for years and he's been singing for a long time. I do the back-up vocals and play the bass.'' Read full story » |

| Hi All I am running the City2Surf for the first time on Sunday the 8th of August for The McGrath Foundation. The foundation which was set up by my good mate Glenn McGrath is a fantastic charity which raises vital funds for McGrath Breast Care Nurses throughout rural and regional Australia as well as educating young women to be ‘breast aware’. I am attempting to raise $10K and any spare change you can spare will be much appreciated. Go to http://www.gofundraise.com.au/BrettLee to donate. If you are running the event on Sunday please come and say hi. I'm really looking to the day and appreciate your support. Cheers Brett |

| Jul 18, 2010 | MADNESS RULES: LONG LIVE BING DYNASTY |
| Brett Lee is in the gymnasium, proving Dennis Lillee's theory that ''madness'' drives cricket's great fast bowlers. While he's retired from the Test arena, Lee is hammering himself harder than ever. Adding credence to the madness is he tortures himself knowing he had at least a year of Test cricket left in his body. He also wrestles with the reality that at 33 his body is a time bomb, and injury could be just an over-stretched muscle away. But he slogs on regardless. That threat, he says, is ''edgy''. As for those people who can't comprehend why he's so determined to shine in his twilight, well, they don't understand fast bowlers. Read full story » |
