| Australian skipper Ricky Ponting says speedster Brett Lee may be bowling at full pace in the next couple of days in a bid for Ashes selection. Lee (rib muscle injury) faces a desperate race against time to be fit for Friday's fourth Test at Headingley. | Brett Lee has ruled himself out of next week's third Test in Birmingham, reducing the pressure on Mitchell Johnson to retain his place. The 32-year-old paceman fears that if he rushes back, then breaks down again, he could ruin the team's Ashes campaign and his tour. | Brett Lee and Shane Watson have increased the pressure on Mitchell Johnson and Phillip Hughes by stepping up their recoveries from injury during the Lord's Test, with Lee declaring he is confident of being fit to offer reinforcement for the third Test at Edgbaston. Lee is recovering from a side strain received during the tour game at Worcester before the first Test and Australia could have done with his pace, leadership and movement as Mitchell Johnson lost his way in the first innings at Lord's. The Australians were reduced to two fit bowlers for much of the morning session on Friday with Nathan Hauritz off the field with a dislocated finger and Peter Siddle so unwell he vomited on the revered ground before retreating to the dressing room.
