Aug 19, 2009 LEE COULD BE CALLED UP TO MAKE USE OF CONDITIONS
Brett Lee could play in the Ashes-deciding Test match at The Oval, according to Australia's coach, Tim Nielsen. Lee seemed to be at the back of the queue after missing the first four Tests through injury and if the selectors do make a change at The Oval it will, most likely, mean the off-spinner Nathan Hauritz replacing the seamer Stuart Clark.

Aug 17, 2009 BRETT LEE IS READY FOR RETURN TO AUSSIE ATTACK
Brett Lee could make a surprise return to the Australia team for this week's decisive Fifth Ashes Test if the conditions favour reverse swing.

An abdominal injury has kept Lee out of the first four npower Tests of the series and although the paceman is now fully fit, it was thought that he would struggle to play at The Brit Oval after the tourists' devastating bowling performance in their victory at Headingley last week.

But with the weather in south London forecast to be dry and warm for most of this week - conditions which would favour reverse swing - Australia coach Tim Nielsen today hinted that Lee may finally be handed his chance to attack the England batsmen.

Aug 17, 2009 BIRD STEALS BAIL ASHES TOUR MATCH
Brett Lee has always been a bit of a hit with the birds.

But the pace bowler found birds of the feathered variety much harder to tame in comical scenes during Australia's tour match in Canterbury on Sunday.

With the two-day match petering out, Lee delivered a ball that burst through tailender Liam Plunkett's defences and sent a bail flying down in the direction of fine leg.

A cheeky bird, clearly thinking that a nice tasty chip had presented itself, swooped down and picked up the bail off the ground at St Lawrence Ground.

Aug 16, 2009 BRETT'S BLOG: ENGLAND TO THROW THE KITCHEN SINK
What will happen, will happen, so all I'm focussing on right now is to give myself the best opportunity to play by performing well in the practice match against the English Lions on Saturday and Sunday.

I'm looking forward to finally getting out and playing a game of cricket again.

The way we played at Headingley was in an absolutely clinical fashion. Down the track we could be looking at the first morning at Leeds as the point at when the Ashes turned.

Aug 08, 2009 CLARK FEELS FOR OVERLOOKED LEE
Stuart Clark says he feels for Brett Lee after the blond-haired speedster was the only Australian paceman in the touring party to be overlooked for Headingley.

The nation's fourth highest wicket-taker in history hasn't played a Test since the Boxing Day clash and felt he was ready to go for the fourth Ashes Test after recovering from a side strain.

But selectors opted for a four-man pace attack in Leeds that included the other four quicks on tour.

Brett Lee has declared himself "100 percent" fit for Friday's fourth Ashes Test as a split appeared in the Australian camp over his return.

Aug 05, 2009 BRETT'S BLOG: COPPING IT FROM THE CROWDS
The tight series so far seems to have gripped the English public as much as it did in 2005.

As the series progresses we’ve copped a bit of flak over here from the crowds but it's all been quite tongue-in-cheek. The Barmy Army has even been quite funny at times and I think they’ve added some real atmosphere.
