I went to the Taj because my aunt had organised for me too meet Lee, but she wasn't there yet, so I was sitting there waiting for a 15 minutes and while doing that I saw Gilchrist at the reception. I didn't have the guts to walk up to him and talk to him. Then I saw Ponting, Greg Chappel and Dan Cullen so I was just pysched.
Then, my aunt came, and then her friend. He's the managing director of Deutche bank all over the world and he's her best friend so he got in touch with this guy, Ravi Krishnan (who's this bigtime Aussie-Indian) and he fixed up a meeting with Binga. So then Lee came down, from his room to meet me and he shook hands with these 2 men first, then my aunt and when he shook my hand, I was practically shaking. But I said, "Hey, um kinda met you in May, Delhi-Timex event - my friends mom organised the event". So he's all "Yeahh I remember, how are you? How've you been? You been busy or what?", and I 'm all, "Not really, just been studying actually". Then I made such a fool out of myself. He was wearing a cap, and I wanted to see him without it because I love his hair, so I say, "Can you take your cap off?". I didn't even realize what I'd said until everyone started laughing and Lee's all, "Uhh my cap?" and I said, "Yeah". He said, "Nah, we'll just leave that be!"...it was so cute!
So then we're just talking and stuff and I'm all, "So how's Liz" and he says, "She's real good, thanks". I asked, "So, have you decided what you're naming the baby yet?". He's all "Nah, we're still trying to find a right name, but right now we're just wishing its a healthy baby, and we're just really excited". So I was all, "Yeah, and good luck with the match in Jaipur and you've GOT TO win the trophy!". He just started laughing and said, "Yeah, we'll try our level best". And then he started talking to the other 2 guys while I was standing there admiring him and he was telling them how Shane had broken his foot while playing, and how Gilly's run out yesterday was really crucial and stuff...and then one of the guy's (there were just 5 of us, my aunt, me, aunt's friend (who organised me meetin him), the Ravi Krishnan dude,and of course, binga), so he's all, so I guess I 'll see u back in a couple of weeks. You'll be back to chill in Mumbai for a bit right?" and I'm all, "Uhh no, he's cumin back on the 5th for the final!", and Lee starts laughing and says, "Yeah, I hope so too".
Then my aunt's friend asks Lee, "So when's the baby due?", and before Lee can answer I say, "22nd November". Everyone starts laughing and Lee's like, "Yeah mate, she's right. He's due on the 22nd of November". So I ask, "What if he comes on the 23rd, will you miss the first test?", and he replies, "Nah, he's going to come early, I just have a feeling that he's going to come early". Hehe! I asked him when the next Timex event was, and maybe next year, so then I was all, "Well then I'll see you there". And he's all "Yeah, see you there"...and then he was going back to his room to pack up and stuff since they were leaving in an hour and he shook my hand again. He's like GOD...wow...and then he's all, "So what do you wanna become when you grow up?", and I'm all "a lawyer, and you aksed me that last time too". He smiled and said, "Ahh, I see...so you haven't changed your mind have you?. Well, confidence is good...and be good and study hard." And I said, "Right, thanks, see you!" And then he went up and I was just stunned by him...he's too nice.
My aunt and I went to the coffee shop and I was on the phone telling my Dad about the meeting, and then I looked to my right and Glenn McGrath had walked into the coffee shop, so there was this huge intake of breath from me, and he looked over and smiled, because I was like 10 feet away, and he TOTALLY heard me! Haha... and then he went and sat down at a table, and my aunt said to go get his autograph, and I couldn't at first, because I'm so gutless... but then I walked upto him and I was all, "Hey, could I have your autograph please?". He said, "Yeah sure, so how've you been?" I replied, "Oh I've been good, just met Binga, I'm in love with that guy" and he starts laughing and he's all, "Yeah, he's a great bloke." Then he handed my book back to me,and I was said "Thanks". He said, "Sure,have a great day"...they're all just so, simply put, NICE.
Then after coffee we went back to the lobby and THEY WERE ALL THERE. EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM...and I DIDN'T EVEN GET ONE AUTOGRAPH BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE THE GUTS. And I looked over at clarke, and I was just losing my nerves, and he could so totally make out, and everyone was there ...and then I went to the bookshop, (actually, just my aunt did). I waited outside, and I was just lookin at Lee when this dude was standing behind me, and I realized I was blockin his way. So, I was going to turn around and say, "Sorry." Instead I ended up screaming in the guy's face...because it was ANDREW SYMONDS. I made such a fool of myself, not like it matters, since this was like a once in a lifetime chance.
And then this guy walks up to me (he's an indian),and he's all "Do you have a camera fone?"...and I'm all "yeah", and then he says, "Can you just click a pic of me with them." I said sure, and I walk with him to where all the players are, and he asks Glenn for a photograph, and I clicked it. And then while I was clickin it, I looked over at Lee who was lookin at us, and he wasn't wearing his cap anymore, so I gestured as if to say, "The cap's gone eh?", and he smiled and went all "yeah". And I just gave him a thumbs up...and then this Indian dude took me to Lee because he wanted a pic with him. So Lee said hi to me, and then I was all, "you're going to have to wait for a sec" (because I'd put the camera of my fone off), and then Lee was all, "my busssssss!!", and I'm all, "just waaaaaaaaaittt!!!", and then I got it on and I clicked this dude's pic with Lee. I said good luck and bye to Lee and he said "see you soon", and then I sent the pics to that dude via bluetooth and when we were leaving, we saw them all in their bus (heading for the airport, because they have their next match in Jaipur). My aunt asked, "you wanna go to the airport?", and I said yeah, but there was too much rush and stuff so we didnt go to the airport but we caught up with their bus a little ahead of home, and I rolled my window down to catch his eye, and Cullen, Ponting and Buchanan saw me acting like a nutter. But Lee was listening to his iPod, and he was looking down so he didn't. But today was like one of THE best days of my life and I'm just on cloud 9 right now...its like wow!...and then I know I'll see him again sometime soon...so yay!!
