Wow! I just cant digest it. Haha. Ok here we go.
Well, I knew a while back that Brett was going to be in bombay for the launch of some range of New Balance shoes but I didnt think much cause I live in Delhi. Anyways, yesterday I got a message from Subodh and it said "Brett's gonna be in Delhi tomorrow at the Hyatt for Timex - don't know the timings sorry".
So I was like "oh man, Timex now I'll never be able to meet him." So well, this morning (May 3) at around 10am, I got a message from Subodh again saying that he and his marketing manager were probably going to meet Brett sometime in the afternoon. So I was like, "ok great." Then at 2:30 again he messaged saying sorry I am not going just my boss is and I was like "that is sooooo unfair!!! Why does this always happen to me??".
So I felt bad all day and waited for some kind of miracle to take place. Soon, it was 6:30 and I gave up hope. Then I was sitting around and at 9 something PM I got a call from some number and I picked up, and it was Subodh. And he was like "Hey sahiba. Subodh here how are you???" I said "I am just great."
So Subodh was like, "Brett's sitting next to me. Wanna talk to him???". And I was like, "Of course". So he passed the phone on to Brett. Brett was like, "Hi how are you??" and I was like "Hi what a pleasant surprise!!". He started laughing. Then he asked me what I had been up to and stuff. Then I said, "you remember we met??". He's like, "uhhh"...and I am like "New Balance. The letter." He's like "oh of course I do. Thanks so much for that I still have it". I was like "awwww". And then we spoke a bit more and laughed loads more. And then he said "Have a good night. Hope to talk to you again". I said "Yeah wow. Thanks for calling. That was really nice." And he said "oh dont be silly, good night"
And then 5 minutes later Subodh called me and started laughing. And I was like "oh my god u rock!". And he said "yeah I know! Just wanted to surprise you!!". Then he started telling me that there is soon going to be a signature line Brett Lee and New Balance combined kinda like Brett-Bix or something close. So, that's it. I am soooo thrilled its not funny!!
